Joanneum Research, with over 440 employees, develops solutions and technologies for businesses and industries across a wide range of sectors and conducts top-level research at an international level. It has a special focus on and a long-standing experience in the field of evaluation and in issues of gender equality in STI organizations. POLICIES (Institute for Economic and Innovation Research) is one of the six institutes of Joanneum Research and offers a wide range of thematic and methodological expertise to provide advice and support in the planning of technology and innovation strategies, in assessing the risks and effects of political and business decisions and in implementing and evaluating gender equality activities. Its work forms the basis for developing evidence-based policies and strategies. Joanneum Research has also committed itself to diversity, equal opportunity and the promotion of women as key principles of its corporate policy. With the support of researchers from the POLICIES institute, it has established measures to promote equal opportunities for women and men as part of its gender-mainstreaming strategy.
