Berlin Institute of Health presents: “Portraits: Inspiring women in translational medicine”

For »International Day of Girls and Women in Science« 2019, the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) presents ten video portraits of inspirational women scientists working in the field of translational medicine. In 2018, BIH accompanied ten women scientists to get an insight about their amazing research at the BIH translational research commons (BIH, Charité and Max Delbrück Center).

Public perception of science is still dominated by the image of men, and male scientists are interviewed and quoted more frequently in the media than their female colleagues. Therefore, the BIH wants to represent women scientists with its portrait series and illustrate their inspiring contribution to translational research, from basic research to clinical application. Science is diverse!

We invite all to join us to set an example of women in science. Get inspired and let’s talk about science, women scientists, and visibility! Please register:
