Description of the ACT Communities of Practice
The main objective of the ACT – Life Science CoP will be to find practical solutions to change institutional culture towards Gender Equality. Members of the CoP will decide jointly on which specific problem, behaviour, practice, or process the CoP will focus on and develop the solution in a collaborative manner.

The CoP gathers practitioners - representatives of higher education institutions, research funding organizations, policy-making organizations, non-governmental organizations and entrepreneurships operating in Central and Eastern Europe, who undertake or are willing to undertake initiatives aiming at achieving gender equality in their organizations.

The thematic focus of this new Community of Practice is tackling gender biases in decision-making by the means of Gender Budgeting. The emphasis will be on the gendered managerial mechanisms through which organisations formulate budgets and allocation of resources.
