Marek Kwiek is Director of the Center for Public Policy Studies (since 2002), and Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair in Institutional Research and Higher Education Policy (since 2012) at the University of Poznan (Poland). He is an international higher education policy expert to the European Commission, USAID, OECD, the World Bank, UNESCO, OSCE, the Council of Europe, as well as to international advisory firms (Ernst and Young and Price Waterhouse Coopers), national governments, and higher education institutions. Since 2000, he has been the Principal Investigator and a country Team Leader in 50 international higher education research and policy projects (global and European), funded e.g. by the European Commission (the 6th and 7th Research Framework Programs), European Science Foundation (ESF), Fulbright, Ford, and Rockefeller foundations. His 20 international research projects focused on university funding and governance, public sector reforms, the academic profession, university-business links, and academic entrepreneurialism. His recent book is "Changing European Academics: A Comparative Study of Social Stratification, Work Patterns and Research Productivity" (Routledge, 2019).
