Technical University of Berlin, TUB

TUB is one of Germany’s largest and most internationally renowned technical universities. It comprises seven faculties and 40 institutes and offers nearly 100 courses in the natural sciences, engineering, economics, the humanities, and the social sciences. TUB welcomes 33.000 students, 32 and 18 per cent of them women and foreign citizens respectively. TUB employs 2.691 academics, 313 of them professors, and 2.122 administrative and lab staff. The university has received the Total E-Quality Award and has established the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE) to strengthen its start-up eco-system. TUB cooperates across organisations and professional communities. One purpose is to develop interaction formats that can help attend to wider ranges of perspectives and synchronise long-term research trajectories with public preferences. Another purpose is to explore existing organisational practices and to develop recommendations for potential adjustments that can help increase the proportions of women in scientific and commercial organisations, and motivate more women to initiate highly technological start-ups, thus enhancing the integration of women into the innovation system.
